Vimeo has announced an expanded Free plan that lets anyone upload and share unlimited public videos for free. It’s the first time in Vimeo’s 22-year history that Free users can publish all their work without limits.

“Filmmakers need a place online where their work can shine, and we want Vimeo to be that place again,” said Matteo Danieli, co-founder of Bending Spoons, which acquired Vimeo in 2025. “Removing the limit on public videos is the first step. Anyone can now share all their work on Vimeo in beautiful quality, with no ads and no AI trained on it—for free.”

Over the coming months, Vimeo will continue to invest in putting filmmakers—the people who first built Vimeo’s community—back at the center of the platform. To do this, they will introduce deeply discounted plans for independent filmmakers, and work on improving how people watch and discover videos on Vimeo.

What’s new in the Vimeo Free plan

  • Unlimited public videos: Free users can upload and share as many public videos as they like. Public videos with embedding turned off don’t count toward storage, and have unlimited bandwidth.
  • 3x more storage for private and embeddable videos: The storage limit for private and embeddable videos has increased from 1 GB to 3 GB.
  • Access to tools that were previously paid: People on Vimeo can now use auto-captions, translations, social analytics, and more, for free.

Everything that was previously included in the Free plan remains free, and the plan has no trial period or expiry date.
